Tuya Releases Security Updates to Firmware and App to Address Recent Security Issues
SAN JOSE, California — January 31, 2019 — Tuya Smart, a global leader in AI+IoT, has released a new version of its public software app that addresses all known security issues. The update is now available on Google Play and the App Store.
“We apologize for any concerns caused for our customers and the public by these security issues”, said Alex Yang, Co-founder and COO of Tuya. “It’s our mission to provide a secure AI + IoT platform, and we welcome feedback from the industry, media, our customers and partners to help us consistently improve our platform.”
The new release includes AES encryption in downstream network packets, TLS and storage processing encryption, firmware package verification, and a security key for the app.
Tuya will work closely with its partners to roll out the updates so they can provide the most secure products to their customers.
