Spice up your 8800 trackball: do it yourself coloring

How to color your track wheel? For the Emice 8800.

Ironically, I did not advise anyone to open their blackberry and thus causing damage. I am not liable for any damage caused to your babies. Blame it on the rain but not me.


1.) Get some permanent markers in different colours.



2.) A little screwdriver like you see on the picture.




3.) Remove the battery cap, note the 4 screws.
3b.) The bottom two will help you unlatch the side panels.
3c. ) Unscrew all four screws.





4.) Left empty.

5.) Now pop the side panels. They have little hooks that lock into little holes on the side of the blackberry.
So pull up then go sideways to release them. Do it up and down the panel until it comes out.
Note the picture below. Dusty!






6.) Once the two side panels are out, remove the whole back panel. Lift from the bottom heading towards the top. It will get a little harder once you get to the top part.
Just nudge it left and right until it pops out from the front.






7.) The hard part is over, now remove the top two screws. This will enable you to remove the front panel.




8.) Colour away! Note the track ball plastic is coloured blue. This gives the trackball a neon blue glow in the dark. The keyboard now has all kinds of colours! At night instead of the white glow from the keyboard,
you get all kinds of colours coming out of it.
